Bruce Manning

Bruce Manning ( born July 15, 1902 in New York; † August 3, 1965 in Encino, San Fernando Valley, California ) was an American journalist, writer and filmmaker.

Life

Manning worked as a journalist mainly in New Orleans (Louisiana ) for the Times-Picayune. There he learned soon the writer Gwen Bristow know in 1929 the two were married in New Orleans.

Together with her, Manning wrote four detective novels and published them under both their names. Later, Manning went with his wife to Hollywood, where he also wrote some screenplays. In 1943, he staged with The Amazing Mrs. Holliday his only film.

Later, Manning had with his wife in Encino, north of Los Angeles, settled in the San Fernando Valley. He died three weeks after his 63rd birthday on August 3, 1965 and found his final resting place.
