Bruce Sandford

Bruce Richard Sandford ( born July 18, 1962 in Hamilton ) is a former New Zealand Skeleton driver. He began 1989 with the sport of skeleton.

Sandford biggest success was winning the skeleton World Cup in 1992 in Calgary, where he was able to leave behind the Swiss and the Austrian Gregor Stähli Christian Auer, world champion last year. A year earlier, he was sixth at the World Championships in Igls. In three other World Cups he did not come in the top ten. In the World Cup he started zwischen 1990 and 2000. His best finish was a fourth place in 1990 in Cervinia. His best finish in the World Cup was the sixth place in the 1990/91 season.

Sandford nephew Ben Sandford is also a world-class Skeleton pilot.
