Brudziński's sign

The Brudzinski sign is a neurological sign, which is by Jozef from Brudzinski (1874-1917), a pediatrician from Warsaw named. The character is tested on the relaxed supine patient. It is considered positive when at passive bending the head, the legs are angled reflex in the knee joints.

The Brudzinski sign occurs in states with meningeal irritation ( meningismus ), in particular with meningitis ( meningitis), but also in inflammation of the brain (encephalitis) or subarachnoid hemorrhage.
