Bruno Lawrence

Bruno Lawrence (born David Charles Gilbert Lawrence, born February 12, 1941 in Brighton, England, † June 10, 1995 in Wellington, New Zealand) was a musician and actor.

Life and work

Although he was born in England, Lawrence lived the majority of his life in New Zealand and often worked in Australia. He was a jazz drummer who played in various bands, including Blerta and The Crocodiles.

In Germany Bruno Lawrence was better known as an actor who has starred in several feature films. The most famous film in which he played the lead role, Quiet Earth was - The latest experiment, which was the New Zealand film with the largest sales at the time.

During the filming of Cosi in 1995 was diagnosed with lung cancer Lawrence, where he died a few months later. He left behind his wife and five children.
