Bruno Monsaingeon

Bruno Monsaingeon ( born December 5, 1943 in Paris ) is a French violinist, film director and writer who became famous for his award-winning films about significant classical artists. Above all, his film documentaries about the pianist Glenn Gould ( Glenn Gould - L' Alchimiste ) and Sviatoslav Richter ( Richter - L' Insoumis ) are considered unique contemporary historical evidence, as both artists turned toward little to the public and before any interviews or insights into their lives had permitted. In 2004 Monsaingeon debuted in Yekaterinburg, Russia, as a conductor when he led the Ural Philharmonic Orchestra.

Prizes and awards he received, among others, the German Record Critics and the FIPA (Festival International de Programmes Audiovisuels ). Monsaingeon lives in Paris.
