Bruno Nuytten

Bruno Nuytten ( born August 28, 1945 in Paris ) is a French cinematographer, film director and screenwriter.

Life

Bruno Nuytten visited the Belgian film school INSAS and earned a degree from the film school of Vaugirard. From the 1970s he was employed as the director of photography and worked in several films together with Marguerite Duras. Nuytten established himself as one of the leading cinematographers in France. In 1977 he was awarded for Our way is the best and Barocco, and 1984 on the edge of night each a César for Best Cinematography. In 1988 he made ​​his debut as a director with the film biography of Camille Claudel, to which he also wrote the screenplay. His then girlfriend, French actress Isabelle Adjani embodied therein, the sculptor and painter Camille Claudel, Gérard Depardieu took the part of Auguste Rodin.
