The Brunswick at Sprötze mountain district of Harburg, in Lower Saxony is an approximately 129 m above sea level. NHN high elevation of the Harburg Hills on the northwest edge of the Lüneburg Heath.

Geography

Location

The Brunswick Mountain is located in the northern part of the Lüneburg Heath Nature Park. Its peak is located between the villages of beech wood in the North Heath in the North East and in the West Tostedt Southwest - 1.8 & nbspkm (air line) southeast of the village church of Sprötze. He belongs to the Buchholz urban area, and south past the border runs from Buchholz to Tostedt.

Nature Spatial allocation

The Bruns mountain belongs to the physiographic feature unit group Lüneburg Heath (No. 64) in the main unit Hohe Heide (640 ) and in the subunit Wilsede end moraines ( 640.0 ) for natural space Schwarze Berge ( 640.00 ).

Protected areas and landscape

On the Brunswick Mountain Nature Reserve Brunswick Mountain ( CDDA-Nr. 81478; 1954 identified and the 60 hectares ) is located. (5.49 km ² CDDA-Nr. 322651; , 1997), it is surrounded by the nature reserve Lohbergen, valleys and adjacent areas. The summit of the mountain is Bruns with heather ( Erika ) vegetated and is grazed by moorland.

View opportunity

From the top of the mountain in the Bruns views over the surrounding moors and to the south falls to Wilseder Berg ( 169.2 m) and on to the Heide Park Soltau. Southwest one sees the tower of St. John's Church in Tostedt. The view is obstructed by the Hamburg Harburg Hills.

Jugendferienheim

On the southwestern flank of the mountain Brunswick are about 350 m southwest of the summit, the building Jugendferienheim the German youth organization Schreberjugend ( National Association of Hamburg eV ).
