Brunswick is a city in Medina County in the U.S. state of Ohio. The city had a total of 33 388 inhabitants at the last census in 2000.

Geography

The city is located in the north of Medina County in Brunswick Hills Township, directly on the border of Cuyahoga County. Brunswick has a total area of 32.6 km ², of which only 0.1 km ² water.

Demographics

According to the census of the United States Census Bureau of 2000, there were in the city of 33 388 inhabitants, 11,883 households, and 9280 families living in the city. The population density was 1028 persons per km ². Ethnically, the population is spread from 97.09 % White, 0.74 % African American, 0.13 % Native American, 0.86 % Asian, 0.02 % Pacific Islander, 0.38 % individuals of different origin and 0, 78 % half-breeds together. 1.36% are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

Of the 11,883 households out of which 39.3 % have children under the age of 18 living with them. 65.3 % were married couples living together. 9.30% were single mothers, 21.9% were non-families. 17.7 % of all households were single-person households and 5.2 % lived in people older than 65 years. The average household size was 2.79 and the average family size was 3.18.

27.7 % of the population were under 18 years old, 8.10 % from 18 to 24, 32.70 % from 25 to 44, 23.20 % between 45 and 64, and 8.20% were 65 years old or older. The average age was 35 years. For every 100 females of all ages were 96.50 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, 94.40 males.
