Brunt Ice Shelf

The Brunt Ice Shelf borders the Antarctic coast of Coats Land between Dawson - Lambton Glacier and the tongue of the Stancomb - Wills Glacier, which lies within the eastern Weddell Sea. Here was the Royal Society Expedition 1955-1959 their base, which is now called Halley station and is maintained by the British Antarctic Survey.

Was named the ice shelf panel of the UK- APC after British meteorologists David Brunt, who was responsible for the initiation of the Royal Society Expedition of 1955.
