Bruschied is a municipality in the district of Bad Kreuznach in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Kirn -Land.

Geography

Bruschied located in the southern Hunsrück, west of Lützelsoon. The Lützelsoon biking trail passes through the village. To Bruschied part of Hahnenbachtal Located in the district of Rudolf house.

History and Origin of the name

The village Bruschied belonged in the Middle Ages of a larger rule of the imperial abbey of St. Maximin in Trier, which - in addition to Bruschied - the settlements Hausen Rhaunen, Woppenroth, Blickersau ( deserted ), Kaffeld ( deserted ), Federation Bach and Schneppenbach included and presumably the " court Hausen " was assumed.

Bruschied formed together with Schneppenbach a district and first appeared in 1023 under the name " Prubesdervot " in the product lists on. 1282 it is called " Probsterade " 1426 " Proistrot ". Place-name researchers interpret the name as " clearing, which was created on Propsteigut ".
