Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival

The Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival (Short form: BIFFF ) is an international film festival for Fantasy films, science fiction films and thrillers. It takes place every year in April in Brussels and is accredited as an international film festival with specialized competition in the Film Producers Associations FIAPF.

History

The first festival was held in March 1983. On display were 60 films before nearly 30,000 spectators. By 2005, the number of visitors has been increased to 60,000. This year 106 feature films and 67 short films have already been shown.

Since 1991, the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival, in addition to fantasy films and sci-fi films and thrillers in the program.

Golden Raven

The Golden Raven is the main prize in the international competition for feature films. It is awarded by a jury.

Pegasus

The Pegasus is the audience prize in the international competition for feature films. He has been awarded since 1991.

More Movie awards

In international competition for feature films next to the Golden Ravens and the Pegasus and the Silver Raven is awarded. The prize awarded since 1996 Silver Méliès, named after Georges Méliès, the main prize of the European competition for feature films. In addition to other film awards, the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival also has an international and a national competition for short films.
