Brussels (Ontario)

Originally it was called Ainleyville but übernannt in the 1870s, as a side branch of the Grand Trunk Railway, starting from Guelph, ran through the village. Brussels is located 10 km north of Seaforth, was established in 1855 by William Ainley.

The village had 2001 1143 inhabitants and was January 1, 2001 included in the municipality of Huron East.

In the late 19th century Brussels had a post office, a flour and grain mill, a sawmill, a hair salon, and a winnowing.
