Bryan Marchment

Bryan William Marchment ( born May 1, 1969 in Scarborough, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who is currently active as a scout with the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League. During his career he has played for the Winnipeg Jets, Chicago Blackhawks, Hartford Whalers, Edmonton Oilers, Tampa Bay Lightning, Colorado Avalanche, Toronto Maple Leafs and Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League.

Career

Marchment played for four years from 1985 to 1989 at the Belleville Bulls in the Ontario Hockey League. During this time, he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1987 in the first round on 16 out of the Winnipeg Jets.

The Jets picked up the defender already in his final OHL 1988/89 season in the NHL and put him twice. The seasons 1989/90 and 1990/91 he spent in both the NHL team as well in the AHL farm team of the Jets, the Moncton Hawks. In summer 1991 Marchment was then part of a business transfer, which forced him to go to the Chicago Blackhawks. There the Canadians first acquired the leap into the trunk of a squad NHL clubs and remained until November 1993, before he had to change again. With Steve Larmer the Blackhawks for Eric Weinrich and Patrick Poulin transferred him to the Hartford Whalers, where he played but just ten months. As a result, it attracted Marchment to the Edmonton Oilers, who submitted him in the course of the 1997/98 season to Tampa Bay. After only three months and 22 games with the Lightning this gave him away to the San Jose Sharks, where he had the most successful period of his career. Overall Marchment played six seasons in San Jose, scoring 22 points in the 2001/ 02 season, a Karrierebestmarke. By a weak season of Sharks in the season 2002 /03 and the associated rebuilding of the team, they gave him even from during the season for the Colorado Avalanche. After he had changed for the season 2003/ 04 for a year to the Toronto Maple Leafs, he interrupted his career in the 2004/ 05 lockout season. For the 2005/06 season he signed a one-year contract again, this time with the Calgary Flames.

After the 2005/ 06 season, his contract ran out in Calgary, after which he was more committed by any team and ended his career. In August 2007, he was obliged by the San Jose Sharks as a scout.
