Bryan R. Wilson

Bryan Ronald Wilson ( born June 25, 1926 in Leeds, † 9 October 2004 in Middleton Stoney, Oxfordshire ) was a British sociologist of religion. He was Fellow of All Souls College and Adjunct Professor of Sociology, University of Oxford. From 1971 to 1975 he was president of the International Society for the Sociology of Religion.

The focus of his research were religious sects and new religious movements.

One of his last works is a comparative analysis of religious doctrine and the doctrine of Scientology.
