Brzice

Brzice ( German Crumb ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located ten kilometers east of Dvůr Králové nad Labem and belongs to Okres Náchod.

Geography

Brzice is located in the southeastern part of the kingdom of the forest on a plateau between the valleys of Běluňka and Válovický creek.

Neighboring towns are Proruby and Komarov in the north, Mezilečí in the northeast, Chlístov in the east, Končiny, Nový Dvůr and Újezdec the southeast, Zdar, Dolni Žlíbek and Výhled in the south, Kopaniny and Horni Žlíbek the southwest, Harcov and Kladruby in the west and Zákoutí, Belun and Vyhnánov in the northwest.

History

The village Brzy was first mentioned in documents in 1422, the owner was at the time of the Knights Myslibor z Brzic. Later, the town is part of the reign Smiřice. In the 16th century Brzice again made an independent landtäflische Gutsherrschaft that was slammed in 1650 the reign Hořiněves.

School location was first Proruby. The local village school was at first a purely Czech -speaking, later, the lessons took place in a Czech and a German class. From 1829 a house in Brzice was used as a school.

After the abolition of patrimonial Brzice 1850 was an independent village, which included the settlements Belun, reason Harcov and Zdar. 1881 resulted in a new school building.

Between 1938 and 1945 hire, the border between the German Reich and the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. During crumbs still part of the Protectorate, were Komarov and Prorub already in the German district Trautenau.

In the course of municipal reform of 1960, the places Komarov, Žlíbek and Proruby were incorporated.
