BSWW Mundialito

The Mundialito de Futebol da Praia (German: Small beach soccer World Cup ) is a beach football tournament of selected national teams, named Mundialito. The first time the tournament was in 1994 on the beach hosted by Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro. From 1997 to 2004, it was because Claridade da Foz discharged at the city beach of Praia in the Portuguese Figueira. Since 2005 it takes place in Portimão Praia da Rocha beach instead of in the Algarve.

The tournament is organized by the FIFA Beach Soccer Partners Worldwide ( BSWW ). It is used by the participating teams as a preparation for the official FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.

After the first tournament in 1994 in Brazil, it was first played back in 1997. Since 1997, the tournament will take place in Portugal every year.

Brazil holds the undisputed record with 12 championships. Portugal has won the tournament three times (2003, 2008, 2009 ) and 1998, the United States.

In addition to the Mundialito the BSWW directed since 2011 the Mundialito de Clubes from that beach soccer World Cup of clubs.
