BTG (formerly British Technology Group) is a British company that specializes in the licensing and marketing of medical developments. The company was born from the merger of the National Research Development Corporation and the National Enterprise Board and on the London Stock Exchange in the FTSE 250 Index.

History

In 1948, the National Research Development Corporation was established to market developments financed by public funds research institutions. In 1975, the National Enterprise Board was established to implement the policy of the then government to transfer state-owned enterprises into private companies. These two institutions were merged in 1981 to the British Technology Group. In 1995 the company went to the London Stock Exchange. Three years later - on 27 May 1998, the company changed its name to BTG. Today, the development and commercialization of medical innovations is the core business of BTG.

Since 1983, the company has acquired the marketing rights of magnetic resonance imaging, a large portion of the world market is licensed by BTG.
