Buariki (Aranuka)

Buariki is the largest island of the Aranuka Atoll, which is part of the Gilbert Islands in the Republic of Kiribati. The island forms the eastern side of the floor plan approximately triangular atoll.

Settlements

In the north-west of Aranuka Kuria Atoll there is also an island of the same name and a place with that name. The same names resulted from the settlement on the basis of clans on Tarawa indigenous to Kiribatier who had already established a significant for the history of Kiribati Burariki on Nordtarawa after the first wave of immigration.

Traffic

The airfield Aranuka located at the northern end of the island about a kilometer north of the village Buariki.
