History

About the foundation boys Reuths nothing is known. The suffix "- reuth " indicates a clearing settlement. The boys Reuther history during the late Middle Ages and early modern times is largely in the dark. In a document of King Conrad IV of 24 November 1243 place name is mentioned as " Bubenrode " for the first time. She testified that the bishop of Bamberg Henry I of Bilversheim redeemed the pledged village. In the law book of Bishop Frederick I of Hohenlohe in 1348 ten interest-bearing assets are listed in the "villa pubenreut " which belonged to the cathedral chapter. Through the information in the interest rate and feudal book of Bamberg Office Büchenbach of 1580 the then eleven goods can be located all along the present main road, which thus constitutes the first cell of the village.

North West of this, across the Entlesbachs, was Scherleshof. Whether this name refers to a single farm or the deserted settlement of an unknown early medieval village, is not to lighten up. First documented in the Scherleshof appears in 1390. At the time of the Nuremberg castle of Count John King Wenceslas received the Scherleshof as a fief. The farm was later part of the Margraviate of Bayreuth By this investiture of the Hohenzollern. Since the end of the 16th century Scherleshof was increasingly fragmented. Today, only a street name commemorates him.

In Baiersdorfer agreement dated May 13, 1524 between Bamberg and Bayreuth Margraviate of these received the high jurisdiction other than their own Bubenreuth while this continues the Bamberg cathedral chapter was interest and lehenbar. The lower courts were in the hands of the bishop. Ecclesiastical belonged to the parish Bubenreuth Erlangen. After the Reformation, only the peasants were Protestant on the Scherleshof, the owner of the goods Bamberg remained Catholic. In the Thirty Years' War Bubenreuth was completely burned down. The last fire place was built only in 1815 again.

In 1791 Bubenreuth became Prussian Ansbach -Bayreuth with the margravate 1807 it fell in the Peace of Tilsit in France. Since 1810 Bubenreuth belongs to Bavaria.

In the time of persecution of demagogues, the Erlanger fraternity could meet unobserved in Bubenreuth by the authorities of the state and the university. Soon they were therefore called " the boys Reuther ". The fraternity took the place name first in Latinized form as " Bubenruthia ", later called " the fraternity boys Reuther ". The " boys Reuther farmers " and the " boys Reuther students " have since grown into a close-knit community. The boys Reuther fair is celebrated jointly by the farmers and students. Since 1914, the fraternity is one of the boys Reuther restaurant " Mörsbergei ".

A major step brought the resettlement of the displaced from Schoenbach violin makers in the Sudetenland. In the years 1949-1957 about 500 homes were built in five phases. At the same time Bubenreuth became the center of the northern Bavarian musical instrument manufacturing, which was able to hold, despite increasing competition from the Far East. The population increased from 695 in 1949 to 4,497 today. For the growing number of Catholics, the parish church of the Visitation was consecrated in place of the St. Joseph's Chapel from 1927 in 1967. The Protestants built in 1957, St. Luke's Church, which forms a separate municipality since 1999.
