The Budapest Stars (also NZ Stars ) are a Hungarian ice hockey team from Budapest, which was founded in 2001 and participates in both the MOL League as well as in the Hungarian Championship.

History

The Budapest Stars, founded in 2001, are ahead of the 2008 /09 season both in the Hungarian Hockey League, as well as the newly established MOL League were taken. For this purpose, they entered into a collaboration with the Slovak second division HK Nové Zámky and have become strong also as NZ Stars.

Equal in their first season were the Budapest Stars Hungarian vice-champion. In the parallel thereto MOL League, they reached due to a fourth place in the regular season, the playoff semi-finals, where they lost to the eventual champions, the Romanian ice hockey club HC Miercurea Ciuc.

Due to financial problems took over in the 2010/11 season Vasas Budapest control over the stars and appeared as a hockey club Vasas Budapest with emphasis on the training of young players.
