Bude Home is a combined free municipality in the district Mainz -Bingen, in Rhineland -Palatinate. She is a nationally recognized tourist and reported as a basic center in accordance with state planning.

Geography

Geographical location

The community Bude home is the only union -free municipality in the district Mainz- Bingen, the city has no status. It is located in Rheinhessen nine kilometers west of the Rhineland-Palatinate state capital Mainz am Rhein, bordered by the north flowing past the Rhine and the Lenneberg forest which marks the place of residence Bude home from south to west.

Geology

The original copy of the Budenheimer rhinoceros, one of the world's best preserved and most complete remains of rhinoceros from the Miocene, is issued in the Senckenberg Museum in Frankfurt am Main. The Natural History Museum in Mainz is an exact copy.

History

The town was mentioned as " Butenheim " in the Lorsch codex in a list of possessions of the Abbey of Lorsch, the this in the 8th century in and around Mainz had ( Urkunde-Nr. 1977), the only entry and undated documented.

Budenheimer Blossom Festival

The Budenheimer blossom festival is celebrated based on the onset of flowering tree on the last weekend in April, with the choice of a flower queen since 1955.
