Budka Suflera

Budka Suflera ( German: Budka = stall or small house; sufler = prompter, so: prompter's box ) is a Polish rock band.

History

The band, founded in Lublin, exists officially since 1974, when they brought a cover version of the hit Is not No Sunshine by Bill Withers, with his own title " Sen o dolinie " on the market. However, the beginnings go back to 1969. At that time, the singer Krzysztof Cugowski, the guitarist and bassist Janusz Krzysztof Brozi Pędzisz began. Soon the drummer Jacek came to Green and they played blues and covered John Mayall, Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin. It was followed by productions at Polish Radio and live performances at local events. However, a plate did not materialize and the group broke up again. However Cugowski did not give up and put together a new band whose occupation changed more frequently in the coming years.

In 1976, the band at the International Song Festival Dresden part and entered into round, the youth program of the GDR television on. In the 1980s - 1990s Budka Suflera collaborated with the singer Urszula who started her career in this way. The band gave concerts around the world and traveled in early 2000 to record releases in the United States.

The musical oeuvre of Budka Suflera is now published in full on CD.
