Budoni

Budoni is a town with 4945 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) on the east coast of Sardinia, in the Province of Olbia- Tempio.

Geography

The neighboring municipalities are Posada (NU ), San Teodoro (OT) and Torpé (NU).

Budoni has in the surrounding hills numerous districts: Agrustos, Berruiles, Birgalavò, Limpiddu, Li Troni Ludduì, Lu Linnalvu, Luttuni, Lutturai, Maiorca, Malamurì, Muriscuvo, Nuditta, Ottiolu, San Gavino, San Lorenzo, San Pietro, San Silvestro, S'Iscala, Solità, Strugas, Tanaunella and Tamarispa.

However, some of the districts consist largely of vacation homes.

Economy and Transport

In Budoni itself, there is no industry. In the so-called " zona Industriale ", which was established since 2000, outside the resort, there are mostly smaller craft and construction companies that benefit from the significant construction activity. Budoni lives predominantly from the house - tourism. In the German-speaking countries Budoni has become known by smaller vacation rental agencies that provide on - beach Budoni private houses of locals. In Ottiolu district there is a large marina with many restaurants and small shops.

Traffic

It can be reached from Olbia on the four-lane road SS 131, which connects with Nuoro Olbia and Cagliari. There are two exits to Budoni Budoni -Nord and Sud - Budoni. More scenic, but slower, is a trip on the main road SS 125, which also results from Olbia to Cagliari, but runs along the east coast. ( Hence the name " Orientale Sarda ").
