Buëch

Headwaters

The Buëch ( in the upper reaches also Grand Buëch ) is a whitewater river in France. The Grand Buëch created by the confluence of several streams in the source Dévoluy massif, in the municipality of Lus- la -Croix -Haute and drains generally south direction. Above Serres joins the twin river Petit Buëch in the Grand Buëch. From here, the river carries the name Buëch without suffix and ends after a total of 85 kilometers at Sisteron as a right tributary of the Durance. On his way he crosses the Drôme, Hautes -Alpes and Alpes- de -Haute -Provence.

The landscape of the Buëchtals already has a Mediterranean character.
