Buenaventura (mining company)

Buenaventura ( Compañia de Minas Buenaventura ) is a Peruvian company founded in 1953 with headquarters in Lima, which is engaged in mining.

It promotes precious metals like gold, silver and other metals. The company is managed by Roque Benavides. A subsidiary is among other things, the Peruvian mining company El bocal.

The Company owns 43.6 % of the largest gold mine in South America and operates solely in Peru nine more mines. In 2009, Buenaventura had a turnover of about two billion dollars from the sale of gold, silver and non-ferrous metals. Net profit came in at about 600 million dollars.
