Geography

The landforms Buena Vistas range from plains to mountains. The average temperatures are relatively low due to the marine influence.

Geographical Location

Buena Vista is located on the northern tip of the island of Guimaras ( island) and is one of the five municipalities of the province of Guimaras. The coast in northern and northwestern part of the municipality lies opposite the island of Panay, is separated from the Buena Vista across the street from Iloilo. The northeast coast opposite the island of Negros and is separated from it by the Guimaras Strait.

History

Buena Vista is the oldest municipality in Guimaras. It was founded in 1775 during the Spanish colonial rule. According to historians, the Spanish Governor General of the Philippines was deeply impressed by the landscape of the township and was referred to by him, therefore, as a "good out ".

Traffic

The McArthur - Kai serves as a dock for Buena Vista and parts of San Lorenzo and is used by passengers on the way from Panay to Negros because this compound is more favorable than the direct route to the ship.
