Bueng Kan ( Thai บึงกาฬ ) is a small town ( เทศบาล ตำบล บึงกาฬ ) in the Thai province of Bueng Kan. It is the capital of the district ( Amphoe ) Mueang Bueng Kan and the province.

Geography

The Bueng Kan Province is located in the northeastern region of Thailand, Isan. The city Bueng Kan is on the west bank of the Mekong River, opposite the city belonging to Laos Pakxan the province Bolikhamsai. The provincial capital is located at the junction of National Highway 212 and National Highway 222 The distance to the state capital Bangkok is nearly 750 kilometers.

The most important water resource of the province is the Mekong River.

In 2010, the town had 4,734 inhabitants Bueng Kan.

Economy

The economy is based on the cultivation of Para rubber and tourism.
