Buenos Aires Museum of Modern Art

The Museo de Arte Moderno de Buenos Aires ( MAMBA ) is a museum of modern art in the Argentine capital Buenos Aires.

The museum opened on 11 April 1956 and was an initiative of the sculptor and diplomat Pablo Curatella Manes and the art critic Rafael Squirru. The latter was also the first director of the museum. 1986 the museum moved to its current location at the San Telmo district. The collection includes over 6,000 works, including those by Josef Albers, Antonio Berni, Pablo Curatella Manes, Raquel Forner, Romulo MACCIO, Marta Minujín, Emilio Pettoruti, Xul Solar and Wassily Kandinsky.

The main museum building on Avenida San Juan is currently being renovated and most of the collection had been moved into the annex on the Calle Adolfo Alsina.
