Buffalo Bisons (IHL)

The Buffalo Bisons were an American Hockey franchise in the American Hockey League, which represented the city of Buffalo, but in Fort Erie, Ontario, was at home. The venue of the bison was the Peace Bridge Arena.

History

The Buffalo Bisons were established as a franchise of the Canadian Professional Hockey League, where they were active in the 1928/29 season. After the season was out of the league, the International Hockey League, and the Buffalo Bisons joined and their championship they won in 1932 and 1933 after round-trip round. In addition, Buffalo reached the final, where it defeated the Cleveland Indians with 1:3 victories in the first IHL season 1929/30.

When the IHL in 1936 with the Canadian - American Hockey League for the International - American Hockey League merged, the Bisons joined also this, but had in a small arena in Niagara Falls, Ontario, play as their home stadium collapsed on March 17, 1936 was and they had to play the rest of the IHL season in 1935/36 away already.
