Bugeat

Bugeat ( Bujac in Occitan ) is a commune with 873 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Corrèze, in the Limousin region. The municipality is a member of the Association of Municipalities Bugeat - Sornac - Millevaches au Coeur. The inhabitants call themselves Bellechassagnois (it).

Geography

The municipality is located in the Massif Central on the Plateau de Millevaches and thus also in the Regional Natural Park Millevaches en Limousin on the left bank of the Vézère.

Tulle, prefecture of the department is located, about 50 kilometers south-west, Égletons about 30 kilometers south-east and Ussel about 40 kilometers southeast.

Neighboring communities of Bugeat are Toy- Viam and Tarnac in the north, Saint- Merd -les- Oussines in the northeast, Pérols -sur- Vézère, in the east, in the southeast Bonnefond, Gourdon -Murat in the southwest and Viam in the West.

The Lac de Viam is about 5 kilometers west of Bugeat.

Traffic

The village is located about 30 km northwest of the easy exit 22 of the A89 autoroute.
