Buinsk, Republic of Tatarstan
Buinsk (Russian Буинск; Tatar Буа / Bua ) is a city in the Republic of Tatarstan (Russia) with 20 352 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).
Geography
The city is located about 140 km south-west of the Republic capital Kazan on the Karla, a left tributary of the opening into the Volga Sviyaga. The city is not to be confused with the homonymous urban-type settlement Buinsk in the neighboring republic of Chuvashia.
Buinsk the Republic is under the administrative right and also the administrative center of the homonymous Rajons.
The town lies on the railway line ( Kazan ) Swijaschsk - Ulyanovsk- Saratov -Volgograd - Sysran ( station Bua ), constructed during the Second World War in 1942 the so-called Volga castling.
History
The site was first documented in 1700 mentioned (data 1691-1703 ) and received a city charter in 1780. The place name is derived from the Tatar word for defense.

Culture and sights
In Buinsk are the restored Church of the Trinity ( Троицкая церковь / Troitskaya Tserkov ) and a mosque. Since 1994 there is a local history museum.
Economy
Buinsk is the center of the food and beverage industries ( dairy, sugar plant, yeast, meat, tobacco). In addition, here are operations of the instrument design and the textile industry.
