Bujar Bukoshi

Bujar Bukoshi ( born May 13, 1947 in Suva Reka, Yugoslavia ) is a Kosovo Albanian politician and physician. He was Prime Minister of Kosovo on 5 October 1991 to 1 February 2000 of them in exile in Bonn 1993 to 1999.

He studied medicine at the University of Belgrade. He is one of the founders of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK ), and he was later chairman of this party.

Bujar Bukoshi could not match his previous successes after the Kosovo war, as Ibrahim Rugova had given him in his party a very low post. Bukoshi founded in April 2002, his own party, partia e re e Kosovë ( PrK, German New Party of Kosovo ). After moderate success in the municipal elections in 2002, the PrK got in the parliamentary elections in 2004, less than 1 percent of the vote. After Rugova's death in 2006, he dissolved the party and went back to the LDK.
