The Bujumbura Airport (French: Aéroport International de Bujumbura ) is an international airport in the East African landlocked country Burundi. The Airport is about eleven kilometers outside the city Bujumbura. In 2004, about 85,000 passengers were registered. The Government of Burundi operates the airport.
Generally
The airport has one runway with a length of 3600 meters, from which an approach by instrument landing system is possible. The capacity of the airport enough for a Boeing 747. A taxi service offers travelers the possibility to transport to Bujumbura.
Fluggesellschaften
Stationed at the airport are mainly African airlines which fly to cities such as Johannesburg and Addis Ababa, for example. Brussels is the only European destination that has been offered by an airline in Bujumbura. Brussels Airlines operates through this flight.
