Bulk Richardson number

The bulk Richardson number is in meteorology is a dimensionless number associated with vertical stratification stability and vertical wind shear. ( in general: stability divided by shear). A high value indicates an unstable environment and / or an area with less wind shear. Generally it indicates a value in the range of 50 to 100 environmental conditions that are ideal for supercell formation.
