Bullenkuhlen

Bullenkuhlen is a municipality in the district of Pinneberg, in Schleswig -Holstein.

Geography and transport

Bullenkuhlen located about 5 km east of Elmshorn in a rural environment. Between Bullenkuhlen and Elmshorn the federal highway 23 runs in the direction of Hamburg Heath.

History

1588 the village was first mentioned as " bull - Kuhlen " documentary. 1647 it is called the present name Bullenkuhlen. The town is located on the historic Ox Road. Its name probably derives from the ponds at the Krückau from where the oxen were soaked.
