Bulletin of the American Schools of Oriental Research

The Bulletin of the American Schools of Oriental Research (abbreviated BASOR ) is a quarterly published by the ASOR interdisciplinary journal Near Eastern Archaeology.

The peer-reviewed journal contains articles in English subject for the ancient Near East and the Eastern Mediterranean, the contents extend to archeology, philology, geography and history of this region between the Palaeolithic and the Islamic period.

The focus is on the publication of original research and the discussion of problems that arose in the field research. These include, among other things, preliminary excavation reports of ASOR - projects.

The magazine was founded in 1919 as the Bulletin of the American School of Oriental Research in Jerusalem and bears its present name since 1921.
