Bulloch County, Georgia
The Bulloch County is a county located in the state of Georgia in the United States. Administrative office ( County Seat) is Statesboro.
Geography
The County is located in the east of Georgia, is located in the southeast about 80 km from the Atlantic Ocean in the east about 40 km from the neighboring state of South Carolina. It has an area of 1784 square kilometers, of which 18 square kilometers of water surfaces and borders clockwise to the following counties: Screven County, Effingham County, Bryan County, Evans County, Candler County, Emanuel County and Jenkins County.
History
Bulloch County was formed on February 8, 1796 as the 21st county in Georgia territory. It was named for Archibald Bulloch, the first territorial governor of Georgia.

According to the census of 2000, there were 55 983 people in Bulloch County. Of these, 3,590 people lived in collective centers, the other inhabitants lived in 20,743 households and 12,342 families. The population density was 32 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was made up of 68.70 percent White, 28.76 percent Black or African American, 0.13 percent Native American, 0.82 percent Asian, 0.03 percent of residents from the Pacific Islander and 0.80 percent from other races groups; 0.76 percent were descended from two or more races. 1.88 percent of the total population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 20,743 households out of which 29.7 percent have children under the age of 18 living with them. 44.1 percent were married couples living together, 11.8 percent were single mothers and 40.5 percent were non-families. 24.6 percent of all households and 6.8 percent had someone living alone at the age of 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.53 and the average family size was 3.08 persons.
22.3 percent of the population were under 18 years old, 26.2 percent between 18 to 24, 24.8 percent between 25 and 44, 17.4 percent between 45 and 64 and 9.3 percent were 65 years or older. The average age was 26 years. For every 100 females there were 94.9 males statistically every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.3 males.
The median income for a household was $ 29,499, and the median income for a family $ 42,199. Males have a median income of $ 30,899, women $ 22,479. The per capita income was $ 16,080. 11.9 percent of families and 24.5 percent of the population lived below the poverty line.
