Urban Classification

Most and most beautiful houses of the town of Steyr stand on the town square, in the corner, inside the church and Gleinkergasse. More modest, but also shaped by the Steyr type objects can be found at the Green Market, the Haratzmüllerstraße, parish, mountain, Badgasse and Sierningerstraße. Most houses of the old parts of the city ( downtown, Steyrdorf, Ennsdorf and place) come into the main walls and a good part in its overall outline from the late Gothic period. Changes can be found sporadically only on facades, which were mostly carried out at land consolidations. The outer contours and the layout of the interior remained largely intact.
