The Federal Highway 650 (abbreviated BAB 650) - Short form: Highway 650 (abbreviated as A 650 ) - runs from Bad Durkheim break to Ludwigshafen. The highway is bearing the brunt of commuters between the wine road to Bad Durkheim and the metropolitan area Ludwigshafen / Mannheim. For the commuter traffic was shifted from B 37 on the highway and in particular Oggersheim relieved of it.

The A 650 was modified several times in the past 15 years and expanded:

  • Four lane expansion to the junction Friedel Home
  • Six-lane expansion between Oggersheimer Cross and Ludwigshafen
  • Road rehabilitation in the area between junctions Ruchheim and Maxdorf.
