Bunte Republik Neustadt

The Bunte Republik Neustadt ( BRN) was an existing 1990-1993 micronation in Dresden's Outer Neustadt. Since it takes place in June each year as district festival.

History

For the period from 22 to 24 June 1990, the Bunte Republik Neustadt was proclaimed and celebrated in a big block party.

An "ordinary provisional government " was formed, headed by a " monarch without portfolio " and ministers for " Wehrkraftzerfetzung ", " Pfuinanzen and other church matters ," " lack of culture and submarines ," etc. The government called on the connection to the Vatican, issued a policy statement from and issued decrees. The boundaries of the Bunte Republik Neustadt were marked with a white line on the road and included the square of Bautzen Street, King Street Cheats, Bischofsweg, Prießnitzstraße. The first BRN was held to 24 June 1990 of 22. 1993 sparked the " provisional government " on. Today's character

Since 2002, the district festival is organized without an overall organizer, the people and places involved notify individual events with a form in the city.

Because of previous violence, the BRN is accompanied by an extensive police presence. Despite numerous commercial organizer several private initiatives could get without commercial interests, which are an essential feature of the BRN since time immemorial. The number of coming from outside organizer is declining as land use requested will only be awarded to local residents.

In particular, the valley road is free of commercial offerings and offers traditional activity for children big and small.

The area of ​​the BRN is locked during the feast for moving and stationary traffic. Along the Görlitz / Rothenburgerstraße but is almost always a parade of quirky, self-built vehicles, accompanied by music and dance, instead.

2006 visited during the period from June 16 to 18 over 150,000 visitors, the Neustadt district festival.

On 12 December 2010, the BRN Museum in Stadtteilhaus Neustadt, Prießnitzstraße was opened 18. It houses exhibits from 20 years BRN history.
