Burdizzo

The Burdizzo clamp is a veterinary medical instrument for so-called bloodless castration of male cattle, sheep and goats. The effectiveness is based on a strong pinch of the spermatic cords. Through this process comes through permanent damage to the running in each spermatic cord testicular artery ( testicular ) to a decrease (atrophy ) of the testicle and after 2-3 weeks to infertility. According to the German animal protection law ( § 5 § 3 No. 1 ) must cattle, sheep and goats carried castration without anesthesia in under four weeks.
