The Bureälven is a river south of Skelleftea in the Swedish province of Västerbotten County.

The river has its source in the south of Bastuträsk Övre Burträsket. From there it flows in a southeasterly direction to the lake Burträsket and then continues northeast. In Bureå the Bureälven in the Gulf of Bothnia opens. In the upper reaches of the river is often known as Buran.

The river length is 80 km. The catchment area of ​​1045.6 km ².
