The honor rock castle is situated on the territory of the municipality Sankt Radegund bei Graz in the Styrian district Graz-Umgebung.

History

Ehrenberg rock was probably built at the beginning of the 13th century by Otto II of Graz, a nationwide electoral- Babenberg ministry officials, the 1229 " Rock of honor " was called. Maybe there was already a previous building. The system controlled the " Romans", a busy stretch of road. In 1277 the castle was owned by the brothers Heinrich, and Otto von Wulfing honor rock, sons of Otto von Trennstein.

The gentlemen of honor served rock from the late 13th century as ministeriales the Bishops of Bamberg in Carinthia, where another " House honor rock " created in St. Leonhard from 1373 and attained high office ( refer Ehrenburg rock ( Bad St. Leonhard ) ).
