The Mauterndorf Castle is located in Mauterndorf im Lungau in Salzburg.

History

Already 326 AD, a fort is at the point at which the present castle Mauterndorf is, have passed that protected the once over leading Roman road. This castle, which had been destroyed during the Great Migration is said to have also been the seat of the Roman province administrator.
