Geographical location

The nearly continuous wooded castle hill rises on the eastern slopes of the Langeberg Mountains directly west of the village Großenritte, a western suburb of Baunatal. To the north of the summit there is a Wassertretstelle, at its southeastern slope extends a fairly large basalt quarry.

History

At the top of Castle Hill is a ring wall with about 2.5 hectares indoor area. The hillfort was colonized twice. First, before around 6000 years ago and then again at the time of the Hallstatt culture 800-400 BC channels especially steep rock walls the system had to be fixed more of a page.
