The ruins Waxenegg is a ruined hill fort in Waxenegg, community Naintsch, west of Anger on a spur of the High Zetz in Styria in Austria. The castle is first mentioned in 1217 as " Wesseneck " documentary and is the earliest documented evidence of the entire area to Anger and also the upper Feistritzwerke valley.

History

The first or upper castle "Alt - Waxenegg " was built at the beginning of the 13th century on the land of the Salzburg Fürsterzbistums. After the plant was rebuilt in the 16th and 17th centuries into a residential castle, it has been covered in the early 18th century as part of the roof control introduction and has thus been left to decay. Today is the dungeon to identify with some residential buildings, as well as a gateway with a tower and Zugbrückenrampe from the 16th century.
