Burguete-Auritz
Burguete, basque Auritz, is a point of the Camino in the Basque-speaking part of the Autonomous Community of Navarre.
Burguete emerged as the belonging to Roncesvalles market town and was also mentioned under the name uilla Roscidauallis / villa Roscidavallis.
The place is a little village, dominated by traditional Basque farmhouses. About the Urrobi leads a Romanesque bridge pier with a bow. The San Nicolás de Bari church has taken the dedication and the name as well as the baroque portal of their previous church. The patron saint of the village is San Nicolas, the village festival, however, celebrated in honor of the Apostle John.
Ernest Hemingway mentioned Burguete in his novel Fiesta.
