Burhakaba

Buurhakaba (also Bur Bur Acaba Hakkaba or written ) is a town in the Bay region in southern Somalia. It has about 28,000 inhabitants and is situated south-east of Baidoa, the seat of the Somali transitional government. Buurhakaba located on a street of Baidoa to Afgooye.

The place was hotly contested in 2006 between the Transitional Government and the Islamic Courts Union, of which it was taken temporarily. Meanwhile, it is under control of the Transitional Government and of the neighboring country Ethiopia.
