Burhan Asaf Belge

Burhan Asaf Belge (* 1899 in Damascus, † 1967) was a Turkish politician and from 1957 the representative of Muğla Province in the 11th reign of the Turkish National Assembly.

Belge came from the Ottoman governor of a family. He studied architecture in Germany. In the years 1932-1934 he was a permanent employee of the left magazine Kadro mainly led discussions of ideology and economic development strategy. He then worked for ten years as a teacher. In 1961 he was sentenced after the 1960 coup as vice chairman of the Democratic Party to life imprisonment, but already pardoned two years later. Until his death he worked for a German Radio Establishment.

Burhan Asaf Belge was the first of nine husbands of actress Zsa Zsa Gabor, the father of the Turkish Murat Belge and publisher of Yakup Kadri Karaosmanoğlu Schwager ( 1889-1974 ).
