Burkersroda is a district of the municipality Balgstädt in Burgenland district, in Saxony -Anhalt.

Geography

Burkersroda between Laucha and Eckartsberga. The national road 208 affected the village transport network is located with its municipal area in one acre hill country and the highest village is the Finn. For the former municipality Burkersroda included the district Dietrichsroda.

History

Burkersroda was born on September 24, 1159 first mentioned in documents as Bishop Berthold of Naumburg gave a house in Castle Roth his church. In a comparison of the atonement place is called as Burghardisrode, while the name Burkertzrode appears in a Lehnbrief from the year 1494. It was the ancestral seat of the Lords of Burkersroda. Recorded for the younger side branch of the lords of Burkersroda, in place of the Hessler, was a Vorwerk, with 5 hooves and a free yard and Hözern, as feud. By Erbrezesse it was also connected with the manor in castle Hessler.

On 30 June 2009, until then independent municipality Burkersroda was incorporated into the municipality Balgstädt.
